With the League Championship series underway, here is the final xwFIP post of the season!
Let’s start with all pitchers who pitched at least 40 innings this season.
Table 1: 2025 xwFIP full season rankings among all pitchers with 40+ innings pitched
In the last month of the season, Mason Miller finished strong in the Padres uniform after the flamethrowing righty was dealt from the A’s at the deadline. Miller has claimed his second straight xwFIP crown, although this season was much closer compared to last year’s wire to wire victory for Miller. Miller’s 2.42 xwFIP is still well below his 2.00 xwFIP in 2024 and Felix Bautista’s league leading 2.04 xwFIP in 2023.
Cole Ragans, Brandon Woodruff, Aroldis Chapman, and Josh Hader round out the top five.
Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani ranks 6th and is joined by his teammate and countryman Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the top 30. Among the remaining playoff teams, the Mariners have Logan Gilbert and Gabe Speier in the top 30, the Brewers have Woodruff (injured and left off the NLCS roster) and Abner Uribe, and the Blue Jays are unrepresented and will rely heavily on their bats if they are to continue winning in October.
Below are the top 30 starters:

Ragans, Woodruff, Ohtani, Zack Wheeler, and Tarik Skubal make up the top 5 starters in 2025. Paul Skenes ranks 10th, as his quality of contact suggests mean regression from his sparkling 1.97 ERA in 2026. Seattle’s Brandon Woo (added to the ALCS roster after missing the ALDS), Milwaukee’s Freddy Peralta, and Los Angeles’ Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are each poised to have a major playoff impact.
Jacob DeGrom completed a successful comeback season in 2025, and rookies Chase Burns and Noah McLean show excellent potential heading into 2026.
